Border Wars hopes to be the first major multi-state Cross Country competition in Utah. In 2020, we are hosting a Utah Qualifier on Saturday, November 7th to determine the Top 15 Teams and Individuals who will advance to the Border Wars Championship (Utah vs Colorado) held onSaturday, November 21st at Staheli Farms in St. George. The Top 15 Teams from the Colorado State meet will also advance to the Border Wars Championship. In future years, we hope to host an in-season invitational for Colorado and Utah schools on the Third Weekend in September held at Staheli Farms in St. George. REGISTRATION: Registration will be done by athletes rather than by teams. The region 4 Cross Country Meet will be held at Westlake High School
*Bus leaves at 2pm Race Times 3:30 pm Girls JV 4:00 pm Boys JV 4:30 pm Girls Varsity 5:00 pm Boys Varsity 5:45 pm Awards Spectators at Region -Each athlete will be allowed 1 spectator ticket to come watch region. If you do not plan on using your ticket, please let Coach Jamie know. The tickets are free but you must get it in advanced! Face coverings are also required. - To get your ticket go to thunderathletics.org and use the passcode: falconccfan5 -All parking and spectator entrance will be located at Vista Heights Middle School located just west of the high school. -The spectator area for the race is located all on the Vista Heights property (sorry you will not be allowed to come to the other side of the course) Note that bathrooms will not be available on the spectator side The race will be held at Art Dye Park - 1000 North 550 East, American Fork.
Bus is leaving at 4:30pm Races will be as follows: JV Girls - 5:00 JV Boys - 5:30 Varsity Girls - 6:00 Varsity Boys - 6:30 The Course will be 3.0 Miles and will be on grass and dirt so spikes would be appropriate Spectators are welcome but will need to wear masks! The bus is leaving at 6AM!!! -Make sure to have some warm clothes to wear as it will be chilly before the sun comes up! 7:00AM Team check-in/coaches info 7:30AM Middle-School 1.5 mile note: Parents, please drop off athletes. 8:00AM JV Girls 8:20AM JV Boys 8:40AM Varsity Girls (top 10) 9:00AM Varsity Boys (top 10) **Note: All athletes and coaches will need to leave the venue immediately following the Varsity boys race to allow Wave 2 athletes & coaches to enter the venue and start warm-up for their races. Covid-19 Instructions:
Coaches please personally check athlete temperature and screen prior to getting on the bus (athlete screening sheet provided) Attendance will be kept under 1,000 at all times. Each section of races will have a separate colored wristband. As buses arrive, a parking attendant will deliver their team’s packet (bibs w/ chips, wristbands, starting line assignments & course map). NO SPECTATORS Each individual team must be at least 50 feet from other teams and interact with their own teams. No congregating as teams. Members of teams will remain in their team area while waiting for their race. Athletes may leave their team area to actively warm-up, use restroom facilities or participate in their event. Masks are required when athletes are not actively racing, fueling, or hydrating. Coaches & trainers must always be masked. Athletes must be masking in start area and will de-mask 1 min prior to start. As athletes leave finish corral, masks must be put on. Medals will be handed out to top 10 finishers in each race at the finish of each race. All teams must vacate the venue immediately following their section of races. The next section of races will not be allowed to enter the venue more than 1 hour prior to their section start time. Please provide a sanitizing station for your team. The bus is leaving tomorrow at 1:30pm! Make sure to have a good lunch to eat before we leave. We will be stopping somewhere on the way home for dinner, so make sure to brings some $ or pack some food! Nicholls Hollow XC Race is this Friday! It starts on a grass loop around 3 baseball diamonds, goes down into the hollow (the long skinny part), then comes back up to the grass loop and repeats. The hollow is a wood-chip and dirt trail surrounded by 100 ft trees. Results Live results will be available on anteloperacing.com and posted on athletic.net after the race. Upcoming Saturday Race!
Our first official race of the season is this Saturday morning! Make sure that everything is cleared away on Register my Athlete! Races are being divided up equally to spread out the runners. Spectators are allowed to come but must wear a mask and are asked to stay away from the start and finish are. 8:00 JV Girls 8:30 JV Boys 9:00 Varsity Girls 9:30 Varsity Boys Our first season race is a time trial at the Falcon Fun Run this Saturday at Skyridge High School.

Team Info Packet New COVID expectations: Face coverings are required for all persons involved in any Alpine School District activity or event. This applies to both the inside and outside of our building. All people must wear masks from the point that they leave their vehicles to the point that they return to their vehicles (this includes staff, students, and visitors). Students may temporarily remove their mask for strenuous drills or workouts, for instrument playing, or to drink water or grab a quick snack, but they must return those masks as soon as possible.
